Congratulations!

You have recently been hired by the governor of Massachusetts to work on a committee looking to name a Massachusetts Citizen of the Year.  The governor has provided a list of people from throughout history that have helped make Massachusetts the wonderful place it is.  Everyone on the committee will be paired up to research one person.  After all is said and done, you will be expected to present your person to help the committee decide who should win the honored title of:

Massachusetts Citizen of the Year

The Task:

With a partner, you will research a famous Massachusetts citizen from the past or present.  Together, you will think about the achievements of the person and decide how he or she has affected Massachusetts history and/or culture.  You will gather information to use in a presentation to convince the committee that your person deserves the honor of Massachusetts Citizen of the Year.

Conclusion

The governor wishes to thank you for your hard work on searching for the next Massachusetts Citizen of the Year.  It was a difficult decision to make - every presentation helped prove how important its citizens have been to being the superb state that it is today.  You have helped convince others that an ordinary person can become something great simply by having perseverance and believing in themselves.  Perhaps someday your name will be added to the list above as a future Massachusetts Citizen of the Year!!!!

Congratulations on a job well done!!!!
